Unlike most of Shetland's inter-island ferries, the Bressay Ferry cannot be booked in advance - you simply turn up and go. The timetable for the service provides some twenty crossings each way on six days per week, with a few less on Sundays.
A daily ferry service sails overnight between Lerwick and Aberdeen. The ferry service is operated by Serco NorthLink and connects Shetland with Orkney and mainland UK. There are two vessels, which operate between Aberdeen and Lerwick, leaving in the early evening and arriving the following morning.

Leave the route at Lerwick and take the car ferry to Bressay. Follow the signs to Noss (3.5 miles to Noss Sound). On Foot: There are no national long distance routes in the area. It is possible to walk on quiet surfaced roads from the Bressay ferry terminal to Noss Sound. (4 miles including 0.5 miles on unsurfaced track to the ferry).

Lerwick Ferry Port became fully operational in October 2002 and continues to provide excellent facilities for passengers. A limited number of free parking spaces are provided by Lerwick Port Authority for both short stay and long stay parking; however, availability of long stay parking spaces is not guaranteed and overnight parking in the short stay car park is prohibited.
